What Do The X,Y Coordinates Represent?
This step-by-step article explains the functions of the X,Y coordinates located on the lower right corner of your page spread in the Page Editor.
1. Select the frame of any element located on your page spread
2. Hover over the numbers located at the bottom right of the spread in the Editor and you will see the first set of numbers lists the Cursor Position in inches,
3. second set of numbers is the Frame Position in inches
4. and third set of numbers is the Frame Size in inches.
The Cursor Position displays the X horizontal distance of the cursor from the left edge of the spread and the Y vertical distance from the top edge of the spread in inches.
4. The Frame Position displays the X horizontal distance of the left edge of the spread to the outer left edge of the frame
5. and the Y vertical distance from the top edge of the spread to the top edge of the frame in inches.
6. The Frame Size displays the X horizontal width
7. and the Y vertical height of the frame in inches.
8. If you click on the Frame Size dimensions a Resize window appears allowing you enter in a new width and height for the frame.
9. (optional) Click on Constrain Proportions box if you would like the frame to scale proportionately.
10. Enter in the new width dimension in inches that you would like the frame to be. Note: if constrain proportions is checked the height will automatically adjust to the same scale.
11. Enter in the new height dimension in inches that you would like the frame to be. Note: if constrain proportions is checked the width will automatically adjust to the same scale.
12. Click the Apply button to make the changes to the frame selected.
13. The frame will resize to the dimensions you entered on the page spread and the Frame Size dimensions will update.
